Hi All,

Here is a interesting tie-in between all back fighters and gunnery training.

Capt. Ed Hubbell’s TDY to Las Vegas to make a training film aid, in which his P-47 was painted all black.

Maybe this all flat black, sans markings P-51B had something to do with that training film aid, since by date on the photo of the P-51B the AAF is using ANA 622 Jet, the gloss black you see on P-61s and B-29s for night camouflage.

All the best to you,

Tom Michel

Are you referring to this one?

It could be. What does it mean by night finish?

Not much of a 'Night Fighter' or any 'Fighter' without any guns!!!
