This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Obergrafter....I don't think Dee Howard converted any PV-2's, as far as I know, he only did the PV-1's into the Howard 250's thru 500 series...
There was a company in Hayward, Ca that put out two examples of (PV-2)what they called the Centaurus...one crashed with fatalities on a test flight, due to weight and ballance issues...not sure what happened to the other off hand.
Ralph Johson produced a single PV-2 executive conversion, the Super Harpoon...It is still with us! Guy by the name of Mark Thompson, of Ca., owns this non-pressurized conversion..
I'm not saying this info is 100% correct, but are the facts to the best of my knowledge...
JOE....of course I'd be happy to see what you have!...
Ryan...Thanks for the picture! Pretty cool tri-motor in the background as well! No doubt an ex- Portugese military bird...only thing I know is that this PV was built after mine....My bird...15-1200 was the last PV-2 built without the upper single window per side, at the tunnel gun position.
Good work guys!

The Boxcarish looking one is the French designed, German built, Nord 2501 that saw service with the Luftwaffe

Thanks! That Nord had me stumped!

Entirely possible, tho I didn't see it. There are a couple of shots on the second page at the top of a B-26 center
section on its back.

Trevor...I couldn't come up with any photo's or info on the two spook PV's...I have nothing on the Harpoons from s/n 15-1516 to 15-1598.

It is a Douglas B-26 Invader.

Dee Howard did modify the PV-2s also (not as extensive as the PV-1). He did 48 inch fuselage extensions, de-ice boots, R-2800-52WD engine installs, brake system mods, etc.
The PV-1 was where he really got after it and eventually the FAA required him to obtain a Type Certificate because of the extensive modifications he was performing. Basically building an all new airplane.

We own all of the Dee Howard STCs and also the Type Certificate for the Howard 500.

Ok, mustanglover, now you have me drooling! Can you, or is it possible, for you to identify the PV-2 airframes that Dee converted?
