Thomas_Mac wrote:Hey guys first time post, I live right behind the Goderich Airport and have confirmed there is no lightning there. There is a lightning coming in that we heard about when the seafury that resides at the CWH stopped in for gas leaving Oshkosh last year
There is however a P-51 due to leave next monday or tuesday, if I get pictures i`ll be sure to post them. Sorry not sure what one it is but apparently it is a combat veteran

Hmmm....when did you check? My source said the P-38 came in about 2 weeks ago, had the paint stripped and then left and headed back to the US last week for some repairs. He said after that was done that it would be coming back up to be painted. Thanks for the info on the P-51, also is there a white Albatros there right now?

It has been confirmed by one of the employees of Sky Harbour that the P-38 is indeed Putt Putt Maru from Texas. The -38 was stripped of its paint when it arrived and then flown back to Texas for some repairs, it is currently having engine problems but once that has been worked out it will be flown back to Goderich to be painted. Still no info on the owner yet.

If the rumours are true this would be the one, but nothing has been confirmed yet as to who the owner of it is due to the contract. There were rumours going around that this -38 may be going to the TFC mainly because it is going to Europe after it is completed but no one knows for sure.

It was my understanding that Stephen Grey was no longer purchasing twin engine aircraft because he is no longer able to acqire the necessary license to operate them. That is why the Mossie was sold and the Beaufighter is for sale. Has this changed?

California Cutie, as she was known then, crashed at Duxford, killing the pilot, Hoof Proudfoot about 10 or 12 years ago. The substantial remains still exist, and last I heard were in a shipping container at Ezell Aviation, but that was some time ago.

Cheers,
Richard

The last P38 to be linked with TFC is now with Ron Fagen

Talking about P-38 crashes I just dug out a couple shots of the wreckage of P-38L N7973.
