My home airport is just a few miles from the speedway. We watched the KC orbit for about half an hour. Then the P-47 and one P-51 came by. After about 15 minutes they came back headed for home. Over Johnson City they split up. Don't know whose '51 it was. It had invasion stripes.
Can't remember Wes Stower's paint scheme.

Got a bit excited to see Neal Melton's P-47 come over the track early...like around 11:30ish. Thought he would be making more passes, but one pass and gone till the flyover with the blue-nosed -51 right after the invocation. That seemed odd. Then the tanker? All seemed a bit out of sequence and hurried-up last-minute sort of thing. Flyover was a let-down, but the weather was great, another sold-out show, and Kyle Busch won...not a bad day :P

(yeah, yeah, Kyle Busch is not very well liked, but ya have to give the kid credit for certainly knowing how to drive a race car! Something akin to the way that Dale Sr used to drive...lead, follow or get the Hellen outta the way!)

BK,

Maybe Patten's, it looked like it had some blue on it.
