Hi Mark, I may be missing something, but I can see no reason to do so.

Someone asked what was happening about a warbird. Some others responded with some info in the public domain, others chose to say that they had info they couldn't share - no problem in either direction. - That's what this forum's for.

Most warbirds belong to non-WIX members, and all are fair game for discussion and speculation, as long as it's polite, reasonable etc.

Anyone trusted by any owner with confidential info who blabs isn't going to get trusted again. If anyone says anything that Bill Greenwood has a problem with, for legal reasons or otherwise, I'm well aware Bill can make his views / request for mod action clear - as can any other owner or operator.

Just my understanding.

Bill's Spitfire has been a topic of discussion on this board for years. A lot of people on here are genuinely interested in its future. I have not seen so far any discussion of a personal nature about Bill or his past on this thread.

Mark H., you're barking up the wrong tree.

Walt

Zeus sake? I love that term. Thanks Mudge!

Bill I hope all works out favorably.

I can assure you that the LSFM Hurricane was in the hangar at Galveston when 6 ft of the Gulf of Mexico entered the hangar.

How do I know ? I towed it out of the hangar with the CF tug ! Did the LSFM Spitfire next. After the Hurricane fabric was cut open with a razor blade the interior of the aiframe was flushed with fresh water and the Corrosion X was applied. This process was applied to all of the affected airframes. We also drained water from cylinders and crankcases, then pickled with diesel.

Well, just to defend myself, if it is fingers pointing at me that I'm feeling, let me say this...

I was just posting information that Bill told me, which is identical to the last thing we publically heard from Bill regarding him and his Spit anyways, so no new information could have been leaked by me, as far as I can tell.

Defence over.

Cheers,

David

A few things here....... Bill is not a member here for whatever reason.... His membership, past, present or future should not be an issue here.

His Spitfire is simply that "His SPITFIRE". There may or may not be some litigation over what happened in Houston. What he does to his airplane is not the business of anyone here. Speculation should not be made here.

If Bill would so choose to lock it away in a warehouse, then so be it.

For those who have spoken to him. I'm sure that everything he told you was in confidence, everything I talked to him about was in confidence. Hence when someone tells you something personal you shouldn't be telling the rest of the world about you talked about it. If you do talk about it, then the rest of us know not to talk to you about anything we don't want to see posted here in public.

I think that a mod should be locking this topic.

Too funny. I won't even go into the individual reasons why this post is ridiculous...

Who's warbirds can we talk about?

Geeze.

Ask a question, provide an answer, discuss, debate.

No need to tell everyone you are confused or offer a slapping. (Not that I'm perfect, by any means - let's just try and play nice...)

I did?

Wearing my Mod hat: Mods locking threads is simply a 'bandaid' over the 'broken-leg' of poor behaviour by posters.

If everyone spends a bit more effort showing respect, being polite and keeping their own house in order rather than offering unsolicited advice to their neighbour*, the mods would be redundant.

Play nice, because I'm off to play with aeroplanes.

Thank you!

*Yup, even me at times.
