Wow..the condition of the interior is spectacular! Did they do any cleanup inside, or is she just that well preserved?

I understand the plane's orginal radar system has long-since disappeared. Does the museum plan to install one (either original equipment sourced from elswhere or a fabricated replica?) The plane just doesn't look complete without the big antenna array on the nose.

The interior looked to be "as is" to me. Thier Ju 388 interior is pretty much the same, spotless.

IIRC when captured there may not have been any antenna's.

It does have an odd vortex generator (for lack of a better word) on the nose. Not sure I've ever seen it in any original WWII pics.

Hard to tell, I believe the US brought back 3 He-219's and the RAF captured 4 or 5 of them.

I did notice that the vortex generator appears to be on this aircraft at the beginning of the film clip.

Mike

looks to be an anti-icing glycol sprayer? Usually for windscreen cleaning a tube was used at the base of the windscreen that bled fuel on to the screen when selected on.

Just as a thread jack as the luftwaffe guys will be looking in here, if anyone knows the dimensions to or knows where to get the info for the centre console for the SWA 10 Fl.50959 selbschaltkasten in the me262 could they pm me so I can make one to mount mine in!
