This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I spent the day today helping get B-25 Pacific Prowler back into service for this year's air show and tour season. I'll post photos in a separate thread.
Cheers!

I'm back researching WWII airfields and the B-29 training program. It certainly isn't as much fun as working on bombers......but maybe now I'll get a book written since I have no distractions.

And I even saw him right there in my hangar!
Well, I just spend and spend more money and time than my plane will ever be worth to return a never before civilian flown example of North American Aviation's finest (AT-6) into the air.

I've got some CAF design work projects coming up.
My car club puts on a car show every October and we each pick a charity. The past two years I have picked the MAAM P-61 project. 2007 was a pretty good amount. More than I could afford on my own for sure. The 2008 amount was more than doubled. So that was sent off to the MAAM the last week of December. I really want to see that one fly.

Well, in the past year I performed inspections on just over 40 Warbirds and grounded nine (one twice), so that they can continue to fly SAFELY for all to see.
Oh, and I had a little bit to do with this.....

As coordinator of EAA's "Timeless Voices of Aviation" video oral history program, I have personally interviewed over 300 veteran pilots, flight crew, and ground crew, many of which can be viewed on the Timeless Voices website,
www.timelessvoices.org. All told the program has recorded over 900 interviews with folks from all aviation backgrounds - half of which are WWII veterans. So I guess I could say I am doing some small part in preserving warbird heritage by helping to preserve the memories of the men and women who designed, built, flew, and maintained them.
