This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Great stuff, Hairy. Any chance of a high res copy of the 626 shot for my book on the type? Drop me a PM, please!

I agree, Hairy. Those are excellent photos. The Liberator is AL514, one of the early Liberator IIs. Notice she still has the original Curtiss propellers. She is supposed to have later become F-BEFX and was written off sometime after 1950.

Nice! Do you have any info on it and what the clear panels behind the cockpit are for?

Forum etiquette!

Didn't I post these very images from my archives on 'Flypast' just a few weeks back?

I am truly sorry Peter, I do not visit that forum, and found that via an image search and did not see any copyright attached. I would never knowingly post a copyrighted image. I had seen an image of that aircraft many years ago in a magazine (probably Flypast or The Aeroplane, ) and that is why I searched for it, for it was such a nice aircraft. I will gladly remove it if it causes offence or is your picture. Once more ,no offence intended.

I have removed the image anyway to save any trouble. Perhaps Peter would post it again if he wanted, because it is a nice one.

...and the B-25?

You can keep both of them posted. :)

Thankyou Peter, you are a gentleman. It just goes to show what a minefield the internet can be. You surf away, thinking of things you have seen in the past, and try to be careful, but can still make mistakes. I would say it was a case of great minds think alike , but I do not have a great mind, or your knowlege sir, thanks again for allowing me to repost. All the best.

Warbirds in civil clothes

Wed Feb 04, 2009 3:38 pm

I thought I would pop another civil warbird up on the forum. During the 1970's this was the only Cavalier Mustang in Europe. Unfortunately it was lost in an accident which took the life of noted warbird collector, Ormond Hayden-Baillie.
