Besides tailwheels going ballistic :shock: the usual cause of ground loops is simply pilot error. :idea: :idea:

I landed my Super Decathlon once and it auto shed both control springs that connected the tail wheel to the rudder. That was interesting.

I used to work there, and that was our second one (my screen name is assumed for anonymity). Breaks my heart to hear that she got a little banged up, but I figured that sooner or later, we'd eventually see some of those birds return for just this reason. I'd be curious to hear if the owner takes it back to Huntington to get it repaired, or whether he takes it somewhere else.
