This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

you may just want to bump into the title that this is an older crash and not one that just took place

Isn't this what they call P.C.?

No it's not. Please READ the link I added to your post. Don't confuse a lack of sense and common courtesy for others for 'P.C.'

Things are what they are, no lack of sense about it.

There is a sticky at the top of the forum, entitled 'Words not to put in your subject line'. Like it or not, this applies to you as well as everyone else. If you don't think it's a matter of sense and courtesy, you are welcome to leave.

This is a warning. Not my call, it'll just be referred to Scott.

Here's the article Kevin wrote on the bailout -

http://www.warbirdaeropress.com/articles/bail_out.html

It's been a while since I read it, but I guess I misread what he said.

BTW, the trim was for the elevator, not the rudder, and that is even worse as he describes in the article, it meant he had a lot less time to get out becuase the plane didn't want to fly level with no power being produced and no-one holding the stick.

Kevin Eldridge Bails out of the Super Corsair at the first annual Phoenix Air races. Notice he turns the plane away from the airshow crowd and points the plane at the ground before bailing out. You can bet his butt was getting really hot judging from the intense flames.

The Super Corsair exploded upon impact, a sad loss. Kevin had minor injuries, but he is fine today. Announcer is Sandy Sanders.

Actually, sense and common courtesy for others is a pretty good definition of almost everything that is denigrated as P.C. by the sense- and courtesy-challenged.

I too was at this event and witnessed the Corsair crash. I can assure you that there has been very little that has relieved me more than seeing Kevin and the Corsair part ways that day.
