This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Great to see the "Mare" with her rudders back in place! The owner is slowly moving the rest of his collection out to Buckeye airport so I imagine the '25 will be headed that way soon. I heard today that his DC-3 has moved there from Glendale airport which means the -3 must be airworthy again, good news. I also heard that there was a bunch of steel spotted out at Buckeye near the collection which makes me think a new hangar may be on the way.

Hey Cadet77, you didn't happen to be the young man I was speaking with on Sunday by Cripes a Mighty, did you? We were talking a little bit about the P-51 Hurry Home Honey.

Is it me or have we been waiting to see Maid in the Shade take flight for too long! She looks great! Why is the paperwork taking so long!? Also, they fly there B-17 in all Aluminum finish, why not the 25? Why has been given the "almost silver paint job"?

Because the paint that was on it before etched the skin too badly to be polished out.
When we were stripping the insides of the 17 yrs ago, the B-25 had only been there about 2 yrs or so at that point, we had some real hot stripper and it was taking the paint off the 17 in a few minutes. We had some left over and tried it on the 25, It did not touch the paint, it was stripped by lots of paint stripper and scrubbing.

Shame to hear that. Don't get me wrong I'm just nitpicking. The Mitchell looks amazing! Is there a projected plan of her initial test flights?

Gary,
Actually I saw three of the five PV-2 Harpoons that are on the field. One was rather close-up to help install a new tire and wheel.
How is the planning going on the move of the PV-2 located at Buffalo, WY?

I have no idea, I was with the CAF right after the 25 arrived, but I left the CAF about 20yrs ago. I am not currently working with any warbirds at this time.
