I've got shots somewhere of the same formation, but with THREE Lysanders (SOT / ARC / Shuttleworth). Six Mercuries in formation. A sad thought that only the two Shuttleworth machines are still airworthy (Gladiator and Lysander) out of those 5 aircraft. :(

Legends in the past has had 4 Skyraiders together, plus 4 Hurricanes (with a fifth from the BBMF flying later in the display IIRC) over the years.

And how about three BrisFits together at Legends and Old Warden in 2006 - almost certainly never to be seen again.

Looks like the old memory is at fault then! Well remembered Mike - odd since I published a piuc of the event! And PeterA is also right with the 20+ Spitfires - and, IIRC (prob not) that was the four Hurricanes.

About 1995? we had 6? Spitfires and a Hurricane at Oshkosh. Later that fall we had 5 Spits and a Hurricane at Carefree and Scottsdale, Az. organized by Chris Woods.
If they were short of Spitfire pilots at Duxford, I wish I had been called. Does anyone know how hard it is to get a temporary British license for visiting US pilots?

I went to the 50th Anniversary Birddog gathering at Wichita in 2000. I think there was at least 25 Birdogs there. If I could find my photos I could give an exact count.

We had 43 Birdogs in Fredricksburg in 2005 for there gathering. Expect at least 23 for the Viet Nam Fly-in next month.

If I recall, Breckenridge had quite a few B-25's show up at one time. I'm sure someone here will have the exact number and hopefully some pictures.

I think it was 1988 but there was always 3-4 B-25's and that year I think there was about 12 Mustangs and Kermit brought the Skeeter. Those were the good shows and the left coast always brought a lot of warbirds and there were a fair number from the least coast.... Even Ted Contri showed up one year, well done Ted.... :D

Err, the 'merican guys flying at Legends? :D

Seriously, I don't know, but it can be done, clearly.

Stoney can fact check me on this one if needed, but the 50th Anniversay of the T-6 in July of 1988 had 108 T-6's on the field in Kenosha, WI.

I think the formations put up over the next few days, and at Oshkosh immediatly afterwards, was around 54 T-6's at once, plus a couple of camera ships.
