I remember seeing that airplane in Fla in the 80's. She sure does get around as that airplane currently resides in the UK.

Well 180 of the -1's were built. But because of poor performance and flight characteristics. The factory redesigned the airplane and made the -3. It had been reported that it still had issues with the rudder and Vibration but the Navy liked what they had and could deal with the faults. So after the 1st order of 50 was approved. It was increased to 816.

Each N3N cost the tax payer $23,000 each in 1940.
