Gary, with all that work you did, you couldn't have put a piece of tin over that bog ole hole on top ? :D Must be pretty breezy !

Jim, was anybody outside getting pictures of the two in formation ?

Great Pics Jim!!!!!!!!!! From me, as one of the CAF B-29/B-24 Sqd members, those pics are awesome, and you deserve a big "THANK YOU"! ....... Now, (voice from Dickens character), May I have some more please? Alan

I'll say it here, and everywhere else I can find it mentioned (or shown)...
I want to thank everyone, including the Collings Foundation, for making the flight of two B-24's happen! It may sound hokie, but from the time I started the conversion of Ol' 927, it was a dream of mine to get both B-24's in the air together. I don't miss touring with the airplane at all, but I must admit I'm jealous of those who got to go on that flight. It must've been a great feeling!

Thank you!!!

Actually, I just ran out of duct tape.

Doesn't the Collings bird have an escape hatch for the flight engineer? (I assume that's the hole on top you're talking about) We fly with ours open on hot days to get the air circulating, but it really isn't all that breezy, unless you stick your head out the hole.

Witchcraft has the hatch as well. It is just behind the top turret. The crew just does not fly with it open. That is the only way to get on top of the aircraft for fueling (or washing like on page one) without having a really tall ladder.

Thanks Ken. I kinda figured it had one also, but wasn't sure. Again, thanks for helping make that flight happen. What a neat sight it must've been.

Excellent shots as usual. That 357th 130 is really sharp......kinda like your pics!
