warbird1, thank you for the very informative tutorial on solving my problem. I now have a direction to pursue.
I am leery of buying used Sony gear from ebay for various reasons. I will however ask a friend who is a filmmaker about it when she returns from her latest venture. I know she has Sony gear as she has used it to shoot video of one of our horses at a show.
