The ASO on Oxford Avenue in Philadelphia has been shrunk with the BRAP program. Its is doubtfull that any parts are there at all. A friend of mine was transfered from there to PAX River.

If you take the PA Turnpike west over the Susquehanna River the basae s visible on your right (North) as you head towards the Carlisle exit. Its been a few years since I was out there and I think the correct exit is West Harrisburg. Anyway there used to bve some Hueys and a Chinook or too visible from the Turnpike (Late 70s)

That's the New Cumberland Army Depot, the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot is further west and not visible from the turnpike. Note that I am using the historical names for the facilities, they are now joined in one large DOD unit that includes Letterkenny (which is 30 miles west).

I did some contract work in 2002-03 at the Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg. I certainly never saw anything that would interest anyone on this board, but there were many areas I did not get to see either. I always wondered what treasures might be hiding in some of those old inactive warehouses.

I think some was below ground. They had all kinds of stuff. Boxes of of aircraft parts. Probably some nice fresh crates of P51's etc, and plenty of parts for them such as new crated engines, etc.

I'm sure our efficent goverment has warehouse after warehouse of stuff they have no need for and many others they dont have a clue whats in them. I do remember the show Matt mentioned on the History Ch. A whole building full of new/never used WW2 stuff including Sherman tanks. One segment of the show hi-lighted guns which were still in their original packaging. I recall the BAR looked awesome!

The Army has a historical artifact clearinghouse at the Anniston Depot in AL where they keep everything that isn't already in museums. I think that any footage you've seen of new-in-the-box BAR's, etc., was filmed there.
