It took awhile but I found 9 Mustangs too. The first 7 were easy. :lol:

I actually find these pics fascinating. They record and show what was done when equipment was no longer required.

I don't see the point in regretting that these military tools were disposed of once they were no longer required. Sure they'd be valuable now, sure they have historical significance, but I fail to see that such shots are bad. They simply record what happened.

I, for one, would love to see more scrapyard shots, especially ones showing scrapping operations taking place.

It took a minute, Curtis, but I see the airplane you are referring to. It's down by the water's edge with the inspection plates missing, right?

Yeah that's the one.

Looks like those holes are from damage or souvenirs.

Obviously been out of commission longer than most A/C in the pile.

Yeah, those holes do look like souvenir hunter damage now that you mention it. Speaking of souvenir hunters, I'm reading a book about salvaging and flying the German jets after VE day, and Col. Watson and his men had a heck of a time finding airplanes that hadn't been damaged by servicemen shooting them up and stripping all the cool stuff off them.
