i am tired of reading about the same type of aircraft over and over. i fly a timm n2t-1 all wood ww11 navy trainer. the fuselage is constructed using the aeromold system.i have never seen a article about this plane and it's unique construction. when i contact aviation magazine's about doing a article on the timm they never get past the talking stage. it's a shame that many interested in aviation will never know about this plane.

Maybe it's time!

Maybe magazine publish articles about the same old planes for the same reason every other documentary on TV is (or was) about World War Two: it's easier to get the material? Film footage from WW2 is largely in the public domain, and there is lots of it...it is a lot cheaper to acquire than footage of less chronicled or more recent events.

Mercifully, 3-D generated content is beginning to level the playing field a bit in that realm.

By the same token, I imagine it is much easier to research an article about the Mighty Eighth than find photos of the Russian Air Force in World War One. And probably a lot more personal interest from the readers, who may actually know someone who flew with the Eighth.

Remember, articles are often written on assignment, with strict deadlines, and they don't pay very well. It's taken me three months and counting to find out what a portion of the A-10 Warthog's engine nacelle looks like for an illustration (still can't find a good photo or an A-10 within a day's drive), and it is an active duty airplane. Imagine what the League of WWI Historians goes through.
