D*mn, I just got home from Milan last night...guess I'm too focused on the outstanding wine, breads, olives etc. August alluded too....oh well, there's always next time. Any museums in Johannesburg?

It displays the Caproni family collection and includes some amazing items, most notably an Ansaldo SVA.5, the last surviving (partial) Fokker D.VIII "flying razor", and a Savoia Marchetti S.M.79. I did not get to see it, as it is a bit off the beaten track, although in a beautiful area at the foot of the Alps. It will be on my list for a future visit, yet another reason to return to Italy besides Vigna di Valle and, as James alluded, the incredible coffee and I might add bread, cheese, olives, wine, and hams.

August

Thanks August! I'd especially like to see the Ansaldo SVA 5, one of my favorite WWI types. I'll try to work them into our itinerary...wish me luck, as I'll be traveling with two females (the wife and step daughter).
