Gary, I'm in, of course - let's just get some Wyoming WX behind us so we don't have to work in the cold. I'm a desert rat, and I'm afraid I just lock up if I have to work in anything less than 45 degrees. Last time I checked, I could still find a cold bottle of beer in Buffalo at the end of the day, so it's not that remote...
And yeah, good thing there was no photo of my mug when she started wigglin' and lunging forward - well, thanks goodness for dry cleaning. My pants oughta be done sometime toward the end of the week!
Shay, that tail assembly has four large bolts back there, accompanied by another 44+ small ones. It was the "four more bolts" comment from the nose section that had everyone chuckling. That darn thing is waaaaay overbuilt...
CVairworks... man, you are the engineering expert. You've obviously been up against big projects/small spaces in the past. Your storage and space ideas are right on. I'm gonna make you a consultant to this project yet. I'll keep ya posted with how the wing racks and rear fuselage support work out. Thanks for the input - it's greatly appreciated!
Chris and Rick H. have both seen the ebb and flow of the parts and projects in and out of this hangar in the last few years and the "brought homes" from Memorial. While our airport director may enjoy uncluttered hangars, that concept seems a wee bit unnatural to me. Dunno what I'd do with real space to play with. One day, perhaps.
Yup, got that receipt, Asterperious - can't let that one get away from me (grin, grin!). Had nightmares a day or two prior to the "big move" that I'd gone out to Memorial one morning to find her AWOL (Harpoons, it seems, are just too ugly to steal!). I'm still awaiting the billing from the movers - suspect that'll be in the mail box this Friday. Gulp! Got to get out there and water that money tree. Old 'Pooner gave up the razor a year ago, saving them pennies to make the move possible. To get her flying will probably require additional trips to the plasma bank or enrolling in some special experimental medical testing, but hey, we do what we gotta do!
Thank you for the kind words, Dean. If I only had half of Gary Austin's patience and could tap into all of his talent I could perhaps just aspire to do this project correctly and to that set of standards. Pretty massive shoes to fill there, but with that said, I can at least offer some posts here and there to keep everyone updated with our efforts.
