Extremely sad to hear this news. I never met Col either, but read about him often, and was always impressed with his exploits. He seemed like a really great fellow, and the aviation community will be a poorer place for his passing. He died doing something he loved, but that seems very little consolation somehow, especially for his family. My respects to them, and to the man.

Col was a warbird pioneer here in Australia & a great pilot... he will be very sadly missed by all in the aviation community.

I will always remember the display he would do in the Mk.VIII Spitfire.... breathtaking to watch & the best I have ever seen..... he could really make it earn it's keep.

I'd like to share my condolences with all his family & many friends.

Regards
