Peter A did you come to Texas some twenty odd years or so ago lookking for some BT parts? We took one guy to a "secret" stash owned by two brothers , one an airplane guy, and his brother who wanted to turn his pit bull loose on anybody who mentioned airplanes. Sound familiar- it was in San Antonio, stuff still there last I looked being eaten up by shopping malls.

Ober, that Ryan ST3KR is just an old PT-22. What you want when you win the lottery is a polished STA or STM with a Menasco Super Pirate ! Now, there's a Ryan to be proud of ! :D

Just FYI, the "old PT22" was a multiyear, ground up restoration by Ron Karp, Col. Frank Borman's long time Crew Chief out of Las Cruces. We sold the PT to Mr. Lewis earlier this year once it was completed by Ron.

The PT is literally perfect down to each screw, and yes, stunningly polished, too. Ron is absolutely fastidious in his work; certainly it would win awards at Oshkosh if ever taken.

Mr. Lewis' Mustang referred to previously is Col. Borman's former F51TF Su Su II (1997 Oshkosh Grand Champion), which we sold to him last year.

I'm really waiting for one of those "New" PT-22s. That or an old STA would be OK

No offense meant, Doug. I love all Ryans. It is a beutiful restoration. Just thought I'd dig Ober a little bit. ST3KR sounds so highfalutin when we all know it's really a PT-22 ! Some of you may know that my son is named Ryan, he posts under Ryan Harris, wonder where we came up with his name ? His first name is Geoffrey, after Sir Geoffrey DeHavilland.

It spent several days in our hangar on delivery. I can attest to the fact that it is truely a beautiful aircraft.

If he's the same one, he has a P-51 in parts that he was working one. Also took some flying lessons at Alpha-Tango....

Nope.

There is confusion that continues to this day that I am related to my namesake the late Doug Arnold, who had/has a son Peter.

Understandable? Sure. Doug had a fleet of flying Spitfires through the 1970's up until his death and I have owned a number of non flying Spitfire and Seafire projects over a similar period.

I am looking for contact information for Rod Lewis. We are producing an airshow at Goodfellow AFB in Texas and we are looking to book some Warbirds of Mr Lewis. Can someone PM me with some contact information.

Thanks in advance.

Greg
