Larry, thanks to you and your teammates for helping out down here. I was not directly affected, but I'm sure those that were REALLY appreciate your hard work.

Thanks for the kind words bdk.I'm glad that we were able to do something useful outside of Oregon for a change. This is all thanks to the State of California, along with the State of Oregon, ignoring the Fed's advice. The new Fed contracts have dropped the requirement for documentation from the manufacturer listing an airframe life. The damage to the tanker industry has already been done, though, which seems to have been the point of the exercise.I doubt that Butler will try to bid on the new Fed contracts as they look to be more trouble than they're worth.

I'll second bdk's words as a general thumbs up for all tanker drivers. It's a tough and dangerous job, little understood by anyone.

There seems to be a marked preference for political focus over killing fires in the US fire systems, from what I read. Obviously I'm not familiar with the nitty gritty though.

Can you elaborate, and perhaps explain how the return of the big fixed wing 'planes came about after the USFS(?) 'grounding' a few years ago?
Cheers
