Eric, you should post the photos of the guns when they were cut up so people can really see how much work went into making these demils look this good! They sure fooled me and I used to have a Class III FFL. Great work!

It'll go on AD-4NA "The Proud American". We've got the R/H inner gun installed and figured that the charger would help hide the fact that there are no guts inside.

Are you saying "Gun Chunks" as in part of the Gov. demill process?
The Turret on this M16 was rebuilt from "Turret Chunks" as a result of the "Drawn and Quarter"......err I mean demill process. Took the owner and son a while to get it all welded back together. Then when it came time to replace all the race bearings in the pedestal they ran into another government road block. Their parts supplier told them they had 2 problems. First that they didn't have any quanties listed in National Stock System. And secondly, even if they did....they couldn't sell them to him. Reason being that there was some sort of Government block on the bearings, for whatever reasons. So this required the ower to crack open every bearing, clean, inspect and repack them. Not sure how bearsing are in the pedestal of that turret but he made sound like there was alot all around the perimeter.
Even though this stuff is cut up I guess we should be lucky it wasn't melted down.

If you haven't found the ammo cans yet, I ran across some (as in eight) at the local surplus store. They're marked with the NSN 1305-839-1295-A872, and are listed for "Mk 11 and Mk 12 Guns" and "224 Ctgs". Pretty decent condition, gray with white stenciling @ $24.95.
If you're still looking, give me a holler and I can pick some (or all) up.

Picked up two of those 20mm cans. Decent shape. Still had the ammo data packing slip inside! If you can't use 'em, s'ok - have lots of .30 looking for a "secure" home..
