Welcome to the Dirty Fingernail Club, Chris!

Thanks everyone,

The new cables unfortunately aren't an indication of Paul I getting ready to fly again (at least right now). They just re-packed the tailwheel strut and bearings, and the cables were worn.

Of course, if I start looking like the photo as a result of working on warbirds, then I *might* have to stop :D

It sure was a lot of fun to learn what I did, and the Wednesday night crew at Weeks are good people.

I'll keep you all updated. Sure hope it's the first of many times I sit in a P-51.

Here's a list of all of the warbirds that I've sat in:

Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (4 of them)
Boeing B-29 Superfortress (FiFi)
Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina
Grumman HU-16 Albatross
Beech T-34A Mentor
Convair XC-99 (transport version of B-36)
Piaggio Royal Gull (ex Italian Navy)
McDonnell-Douglas F/A-18A Hornet 8)

Waco UPF-7 biplane (not a warbird, but cool!)

Notice there are no fighters on my list? I'M JEALOUS!!!

Cheers!
