Tom, if you mean LSAs, they would be required to be single engine aircraft.

Cool idea though!

Erid - yup, thanks for reminding me LSA is what I meant! I mean, without a careful review of the rules, as long as it is under 1320 pounds GTW and does not fly faster than 138 in level flight you could build a composite material Mustang, Spitfire, Corsair . . . . It might look a bit funny with only a 2 blade prop and smal engine but otherwise how fun would that be!

Ah, only the $$ stands between me and a dream. . . .

Charles, I wonder if it does fly like a WWII Spitfire. Sure would like to find out personally!

The ad for the Jurca plans gives the design strength as plus 6gs and minus 4gs, certainly enough for any normal spirited sport flying using reasonable care, that is don't try a 5 g rolling pullout.
Seems to work for the ACM crowd...

Don't forget there is a 1.5 safety factor on top of that (not that you should be using it of course).

Yeah Matt, I'd like to but he seems to stay out there in Apache country like you, and not come to Oshkosh, etc. I don't get to the West Coast shows much anymore. It is a long way to fly over rocks and ratlesnakes to get there. Sure was good in the old days. Are you comiing to Midland? Lot's of big oily radial dinosars to make you feel at home.
