Yeah, that movie got the USA through a very tough time. It was in most theaters when JFK got shot.
It cheered everyone up when they needed it most...

I like it when they add deleted scenes back into the movie. Here's some deleted scenes from "THE BLUES BROTHERS"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlQCFSYfvtQ

I wonder how they got all those cop cars to fly through the air like this?? Maybe they removed the engines??

Here's a deleted scene from the movie "STRIPES". This movie has ALOT of deleted scenes.
The new DVD has edited them all back in + You get to (finally) see those sexy Female MP's naked!!

I often wonder about the poor, unfortunate actors who are in some of these deleted scenes?? Ha! Ha! Can You imagine being in a blockbuster film like one of these & getting CUT OUT of it?? Ha! Ha! I think I'd put a gun to My head...

Here's a kid who was in Spielberg's "1941" & got cut-out of it because He tripped & fell:

I saw in the credits last night "the Three Stooges" and sure don't remember seeing them in the film . . .
Lost scene, or was I just in the bathroom at the time?

According to the original script, here's a list of the "Lost-Lost Scenes" that this guy says are still out there:

"For 22 years, Paul and I and others have been on a futile quest to restore IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD back to its original 192 minute Cinerama world premiere length. The closest we have come is the 182 minute reconstruction on home video and cable TV, and it includes preview material. So we are still missing at least ten minutes of crucial visual material and as much as fifteen minutes. Included in the still lost material (I have the complete script--I think) are Shawn stealing his married girlfriend's (!) convertible, more of Buster Keaton's cameo as a crook, getting Jim Backus INTO a shower he subsequently is removed from, the identity of a strange man in the police station (he is a police reporter told to sit on the story for now), Tracy learning who Silvers is (an unemployed piano player and gambler), and the beginning of almost all the police office scenes. Current prints, including the 182, join them in progress."

Those scenes sound interesting...
Apparently these "Lost-Lost Scenes" have been found & are all ready to be edited back into the film. Hollywood is all set to restore it back to it's full-length version. Just as soon as someone comes up with the 2 Million Dollars to do it....

I saw the recently re-edited version of "THE BIG RED ONE" with Lee Marvin. It has about 40 minutes of added footage in it.
It's a completely different film now, alot better & makes much more sense... Digger

They were in the scene where Mickey Rooney landed the Twin Beech; they were portraying firemen...
