Glad to hear it's a nonissue.

Eric's, MaulRaider is, however, entirely different can of worms !

Maul Raider, hmmm,...isn't that what you call any female over the age of 12 ?

Although, for tax reasons, it was used by Tom Cruse in the Battle of Britain (TM).

Also, the color scheme is based on a bad case of Chickenpox Eric got as a youngster.

Back to the Belle props....Ditto to all Chuck said. I certainly don't know of any disgruntled ex-employees? The Liberty Foundation is made up of (almost) all volunteers. I know there was not any ramp check nor tip offs. The prop A.D. was just due, and PWA was a great place to have them done. There was originally some question of when it would be due based on when they were overhauled, assembled and originally installed.
By the way...I for one, am continually impressed with the exceptional people that have helped restore, and contnually keep these beautiful(1930's technology) machines in operation. Kudos, especially to the volunteer maintenance cadre, many selfless individuals that rarely get deserved recognition.

 Glad to hear it was a planned maintenance issue and not a problem as the scuttlebutt around hear had said. It is amazing what you hear while eating in the cafe at an airport! The plane is in beautiful shape. I got lots of photos for a future model of a B-17 I want to build. I hope to renew my interest in the plastic models again and build a set of 1/48 scale bombers and fighters from the war. Great to have the real thing to model after.

Kurt :P

Still having problems witn indexing on props. Some maintenance in the rain to fix it and she will be back up and ready. I have some short videos of the first engine runs from Friday night, I will upload them ASAP. Great sound and smoke as they start the engines....no sound like big and round, and multi-engine is better....

:P

Eric Downing's Skyraider is actually a highly modified AM-1 Mauler.

Romour has it that this only came to light during a check of part numbers on parts fitted to the aircraft.

. . .which was being performed by some detail-hungry visitor at an airshow. . .

& tracked down via the serial # on the bucking bar used by some old bat named Gladys who only worked at Douglas on the 5th Friday of any month.. between the hours of 9am & 9.05am :)

Can I try one? Chuck Yeager is the nicest guy you could ever meet!
