Well, I always wanted an "Army" Jeep. But when I found this one I was hooked. It has a column Shift, so with my 6' 4" frame, it's easier for me to actually shift the gears without having to contort my right knee.

There are a lot of guys who paint them OD and put a star on them and they look great. One even sneaked onto the field at Reading this past year!
I have one photo of a CJ-2A actually used by the US Army. (though they didn't use many and it may have been a test)
Other foreign military services have used them, and if you are a purist, one of the original colors available on the CJ-2A starting in 1947 was Olive Drab. (the darker, post-WWII green), so you could still get a good , reasonably priced jeep and have it in OD colors.
