Say Muddy...you never did reply to my question on the other thread about what unit you were with while stationed in Fort Hood.

I must have missed it somehow-sorry. I was there with the 5th Infantry Division from Fort Polk. Eventually that became the 2nd AD which left its assets in place in Saudi Arabia (where I got shipped in the process) and eventually the 4th ID. I reflagged three times in one year!
You? 1st Cav or 2nd AD?
2nd Armored Division...hey? I always felt sorry for you guys having to wear your division patch over your left chest patch.
I was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division from 1988-1991. I was an 11M on the M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

I was a dismount as well

Although I actually never trained as 11M, when the war kicked off I was reclassed with no mech training and stuck in the 2nd AD. I always liked that Honor Badge. But it was a pain in the ass

The top corner always wore through the BDU first and you ended up with it poking you in the throat if you fell asleep sitting in the back of the bradley

I very quickly got my ass out of mechanised and back to leg. I hated cleaning clay off those damned Bradleys with a screwdriver.
