The new owner is actually closer to the San Antonio area. Still not sure of his exact plans regarding the plane as of yet.

Wonder how much closer...

Do you think a MIG 17 (in the right hands) could give a Viper or Eagle driver arun for his money in a good old fashion DOGFIGHT?!?!?

Sure as heck surprised our boys over in Vietnam with newer jets.

"It depends."

There are SO many variables in a dogfight that you could literally have hours and hours of bar talk.

Yes, of course there are scenarios where a MiG-17 could shoot down an Eagle. Hell, I've shot down F-15s and F-16s with a T-38, so anything is possible.

But, the other 99% of the time....

Who gave it the name "Tin Bitch" written below the cockpit?

I believe it was the previous owner who originally assembled the plane after it arrived from Poland. No doubt a reflection of his frustrations after his various run-ins with the airport authorities. The guy was apparently more of a military ground vehicle and curio collector (jeeps, guns, etc). I guess at some point he figured out that you have to pay through the nose to keep your plane parked at the airport, even if you never fly it. Prices in overpopulated Connecticut are crazy to boot. Anywhere from $400 to $600 per month minimum to keep the average General Aviation aircraft hangared at the local FBO. Well over $100 per month just to park it outside in the grass. Once again proving the point that simply purchasing a plane is only the beginning of a very expensive relationship.
