Sometime preserving history like it is means more to me than shinny new metal.

you'd approve the australian war memorial's decisions regarding some of their axis stuff then. I think it is the me262 that is still wearing it's original paint and the decision to leave it like that was taken during a restoration which turned into a preservation effort. I believe there are a couple more artifacts they have in similar condition.

The 262 was repainted in the fifties, but sanded back to reveal the original Luftwaffe and Brit capture colours in the eighties..that is how it is displayed.
The 109 has never been repainted and is displayed in totally original camo.

Wow, those are some nice pictures. That one of the seat with the Bullet hole is unbelievable, in the fact the pilot lived.

I’m glad to hear they are keeping it as is marking wise. I really enjoyed seeing the Bf-109F in Canada that still has all the bullet holes and every thing in it. That was really cool to see, plus it was a great restoration job.
