Words and names don’t matter. Nothing can change the fact that we won. Thank God we did.

Exactly.
I have a book: "Iwo Jima: Legacy of Valor" by Bill D. Ross. It has about 3 pages of little tiny crosses smaller than this -- + -- printed on them in the front; 6,821 of them, to be exact. It's hard to keep the tears back every time I look at these pages.
6,821 young Americans gave all they had for this little rock in the Pacific Ocean, and for us.

I'll never forget.

Dave

Wonder how long it will take Google Earth to update with the new (old) name of the island.

Honestly,I could care less about the subject. While on the subject..it IS their property and they do with it what they will.

Honestly, I and most of the people on the site could make due without all of your comments so why don't you just find some other place to troll. You may not like the content of everyones thread but Chris is a part of this site and you are a totally out of line with all of your comments. This place is like a family and you may fight back and forth with your brothers and sisters but we don't need someone coming in a critiquing our family members. I looked up your posts and you have said nothing intelligent in the history of your membership of the site so why don't you find a new hobby as this one doesn't seem to be something you can offer anything of value towards.

Yes, it is their island to rename it back to its original Iwo To...But for the families of those who fought there, especially those of the nearly 7,000 that paid the ultimate sacrifice, I am sure they care about the subject.

I think it ought to stay as Iwo Jima, who cares what it used to be called before the war. Gosh if they want to change some names back to what they used to be, lets get rid of "HERTZ" and go back to what it really is,
CYCLES.

then why bother to reply? Especially in a way that is somewhat insulting? And then you decide to make a comment about the subject that you have no interest in? wtf?
