Careful Mustangdriver that kind of talk is against the party line where you hang out. Keep talking like that and they may revoke your priviledges.

I know what you mean. I love the place where I hang, and we all by now know my views on static and flying aricraft. But I don't agree with all of the views of that place. I think that we need to keep some of the things in the air as well. It is a very nast topic of conversation where I hang out.

China Lake and Soccoro, New Mexico come to mind when you say Navy and either USAF or US Army aircraft. Anyone have photos of the airframes at Soccoro they are willing to post? I've seen photos of rows of F-8 fuselages, an F7U-3 Cutlass, F-89s, F-100s, etc., etc. stored there. Recently the Navy scrapped most if not all that were stored there. Oh to have been able to go thru there just once with a camera (at the very least)...

The F-89 has to be the favourite of this A.F. vet. Never got to see one in the air but there were a few at Hill AFB when I was stationed there about 40 years ago. It would be great to see one again even if as a display in a museum. The B-47 is first runner up. There is one of the B-47's outside the Museum of Flight in Seattle.
