This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The problem is the service in question. I find it funny that the only service who makes a huge deal out of warbird recoveries from the depths and jungles is also the only one that makes a big deal about the sales of surplus aircraft. I e-mailed my contact out at AMARC several months ago only to find out that the C-2 Greyhounds that were supposed to be released to surplus still haven't (they were supposed to be released 3 years ago), and I doubt any other ex-Navy aircraft out there will be released in the near future. However, the other services have had no issue releasing its aircraft to surplus or scrap. It's kinda sad to see a single service be so anal while the other 3 (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard) don't have much issue with it.

The Navy has a shortage of C-2s/parts and I doubt that they will be relased.

That may be the case, but to me, why post a notice of release if you don't intend to release them (as it appears to be the case with the Greyhound)? That's something that the Navy has an issue with. They post notices like they're having a fire sale and then 75% never happen or are delayed by years.
