Yep, same one. Ex-Junior Burchinall, it was rebuilt for John Silberman in the '80s (and I've heard some real horror stories about that rebuild!), then to the Museum of Flying. It spent some time with Bill Lyons in the '90s, then back to MoF for a while, and subsequently was due to be traded to the CAF as part of the aborted F-82 deal that went sour.

Now with Jack Croul, it has been 'rebuilt' umpteen times in the meantime. It's had a somewhat chequered history and a number of accidents, I hope it fares much better in its new ownership.

Looking forward to seeing it at Chino next month!

After Steve Hinton puts 10 hours on it,
Jeff Harris of Allied fighters will be the regular pilot.

Thanks for the post. I worked on her and help get her ready for her ferry flight to Rialto a couple of years ago. I miss her. She sure looked good in our hangar at CMA. She did bring some baggage with her regarding engine overhalls I belive and I hope all of that has been taken care of. She was probably the last 38 I'll ever get a chance to work on.
