There's an idea. Let us Easterners use the C-27J for SAR and let the BCers fly around in Murphy Mooses for their duties...

Seriously, can't wait to see those new Twotters!

I suppose that the warbird careers of Beavers and Otters are still mostly ahead of them as so many are still working aircraft. Good to know they will be in the skies for many more years.

Maybe not more but your shootin finger will be severely cramped when your through! Between Lake Hood and Merrill Field, Beavers are almost thicker than skeeters around ANC, throw in the outfits up at Talkeetna too. Worked at the North Air Park while up there and there was always a Beaver or three overhead.

I have flown the Twin Otter (Right Seat) and worked with and around them for 13 years. It is as fine an airplane as I have ever known. I miss flying them and would give my left ear for the opportunity to do it again. Now if only we could get the DC-3 back into production!!

A press release from the company indicates that they are new-build airframes.

They're brand-spanking new.

Built by Viking Air in BC, who holds the production rights to the Beaver, Otter, Caribou, Buffalo, Twin Otter and Dash 7.
They also make turboprop conversions for Beavers and Otters.
