That's to bad. With all of the B-1's in the boneyard you would think that spares could be gotten to put the interior back into shape. Maybe it's not that easy. Sad it can't stay indoors, but it would look impressive on a pylon...

AMARC won't piece out an aircraft if there is a possiblity that it could be reactivated. They will keep it in class 1000 (ready to fly in less than 90 days) as long as the controlling agency (owner) dictates.

When I took the AMARC tour in '04, the guide said the B-1s are being rotated between active and storage, in order to spread out the hours evenly across the whole fleet, rather than ending up with some worn-out birds and some low-timers.
