B-24 !!

About 12:00 noon EDT from SE Penna (N 40 21 25 W 75 10 33) est alt 1000' headed SE (about 200 degrees)

I was on a small farm tractor moving some large tree limbs blown down by hurricane Irene when I heard it DIRECTLY overhead!! There was an article in this mornings paper that the Collings Foundation was giving a local 90 year old B-24 pilot a ride out of Coatesville Airport. They were pretty far away from Coatesville when I saw them but they were headed towards where the pilot lives.

This is the fourth time I've seen a WWII 4-engine bomber while on a farm tractor; the other 3 were the much more common B-17 ......

Made my day! 8)

Well I guess so!!

I once looked up to see Witchcraft, as a total surprise that was literally from right out of the clear blue sky, and I can still see it when I think of it. It made my day, then it made my month, year, and is now working on having made my decade.

I still see it as one of the very coolest warbirds there is. 8)

No, I was getting out of the car @ KPAE @ the HFF for a volunteers meeting for Vintage Aircraft Weekend and had just closed the door, maybe he'll be on display this weekend.

Saw a B-26 Invader fire bomber flying over Lancaster Ca. yesterday. Headed for the fire in Cajon Pass (I-15).

m50q1ontos, the plane you saw wasnt a B-26, it was a P-2 Neptune Tanker -one of two operating out of fox field supporting the Cajon Pass fire.
