Was fishing south of Charlottesville...very desolate lake, nobody else there...enjoying the awesome quietness...when off to my right I heard what sounded like the sky being ripped apart...two F-15s in full afterburner, hugging the ground, no more than 150 agl, down in the valleys between the mountains...followed by a third! Scared the bejeezus out of me! Loved seeing them...even if they did momentarily break up the silence...a wonderful break indeed! Went back to lounging on the lakeside...hoping to see more Eagles :P

A few minutes of fairly tame F6F & Zero at Santa Paula airshow..

The rest of the experience was more akin to a SnowCone & Shaved Ice Vendors Convention. We left about noon...

Grob Egrett II flew into Glasgow yesterday. A little bit out of the ordinary for these parts! Strange aircraft, lovely noise!! At least someone got a pic of it (not me!)

I was TDY onboard NAS Pensacola this past week. My classroom got a good shaking several times from, and I was lucky enough for a classroom break to come to see, the Blue Angels doing their show practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday the #7 Hornet was flying. It came directly overhead and low a couple of times. Someone was in the back seat, so I don't know if it was a special practice for a special person or what.

Friday had a lot of flying activity during the day. During our lunch break there was an E-6 Mercury doing a touch and go or six. Also seen flying were: T-34C, T-39, T-45, C-12.

No pictures, but... Stearman, Robinson R-22 or 44, another bi-plane, some general GA stuff... and what I'm pretty sure was a Mustang departing from KDKB today. It was hard to tell while still driving safely, and my passenger wasn't quick to grab the wheel so I could stare. Nice departure btw.
