The markings, owners name and location all seem to match up.

Checking Buster's N number it shows it registered to the fellow who is selling it so yes it's the same airplane.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but... $1.1M seems like a bargain for a Mustang these days.

I believe it has been for sale for four or five years.

Project? Not much info in the ad...what sort of work does it need? I wonder when it was last flown.

Don called it "Damnfino" for a long time. IIRC, after he got it put together people would ask "what are you going to name it", Don would say damnfino!

What Glenn said.

I don't believe this airplane has flow for handful of years. Like any other warbird that has never been gone through top to bottom, it's hard to say what it needs but I'd guess nothing about another 1.5 million won't fix. Another airplane similar to this sold about a year ago in the same price range. It's now well into its rebuild. Some of the surprises being uncovered were never suspected. 70 plus years is a long time for anything to survive, especially an instrument of war...that has seen war!

Not disagrreing with what you said or that it's not time for another rebuild, but Mustangs-Mustangs indicates this was a data plate rebuild sometime in the 70's.
