Nice collection! What on earth is the yellow thing? The wall poster in picture 20 is on a coffee cup I had made only it says 'How about a nice big cup of SHUT the #(%* UP?. :lol:

its a submergible of some sort, no name tag on it. Fred's dog died the day I was there so not much chitchat........

It can't be 15 minutes from your house, as it's at least 20 minutes from my parent's house!

On pic #49... is that radial a BMW from a Fw 190?

It's a great museum and it's too bad Fred's dog died.
They have about a 3,000 foot grass runway.
Here's a shot of his late dog chasing Fred and I in his restored CJ-2A as we tooled back from the runway!

Fred's a great guy and if you have the time to talk with him he's full of knowledge and stories.

My favorite thing at the museum, (besides the X-14!)
was the three versions of the Sherman tank. It's a terrific, side-by-side comparison of the mods done to help out the poor guys who had to drive those "Ronson's" into battle.
If you live nearby or are traveling by, you HAVE to stop for a visit!

HAHA I drive fast! It may be 30 minutes at most. I was with a buddy when we d rove out and I swear it wasn't very long at all.

Hmmm......
My guess on pic#49 is that its the radial diesel out of a Sherman.....I think the later models used one?
The large V-8 should be the Sherman gas engine....maybe.....
The flat head V-8 a couple shots later should be from a M3 or M5 Stuart.......
Maybe the subs the one in that Beatles song?........

So, it was a gas engine!......not really up to date on tank engines.....
Hope I'm not looking too clueless....
