Just a quick FYI...we'll be broadcasting live from Sun-N-Fun the rest of the week. This morning we have 3 of the surviving 5 Doolittle Raiders on as well as Larry Kelley from the DAV B-25 Panchito. I know Jim Tobul's coming on sometime this week...and who knows who else will stop by. Tune in and enjoy the coverage... www.warbirdradio.com

A NASTY storm just ripped through Sun n Fun airfest, there are reports of flipped aircraft and a building collapsed with perhaps 70 people in it! Thoughts and prayers go out to them. Will update as more info comes out. Very sad day for Sun n Fun.

Pictures starting to come in of planes tossed about with wings ripped off. Still no update on the trapped people. Planes can be rebuilt. Sad, sad day for Sun n Fun. :(

BAD cold front/thunderstorm/squal-line/microburst. Very nasty stuff.

So far, reported injuries are mostly minor, but lots of damage to tents and aircraft. But reports are still sketchy. This is a statewide storm from the Gulf to the Atlantic, so the news is rather chaotic today. Will keep watching reports and post updates, as long as my power stays on.

Picture gallery just posted from Warbird Radio, he was there

Just talked to Matt, he is OK, but there is a large amount of damage. Another round is about to come through. Here is a link to where he will update us.

How awful, best wishes for the folks enduring this storm. Thanks to Matt and all for keeping us informed.

Matt just called me and asked me to repost this here:

UPDATE WARBIRD RADIO - BUILDING COLLAPSE REPORT - FALSE According to Sergeant Terri Smith with the Lakeland Police Department the building collapse reported at the Sun-N-Fun event is FALSE. Minor injuries have been reported and extensive damage to aircraft can be seen. We'll have more on this developing situation as the information continues to come in. Stay tuned to Warbird Radio for continuing updates.
