I've got alot on my plate right now getting things caught up at work and home before leaving for Oshkosh this Wednesday.

I wanted to at least get some of my favorite shots up from the show and here they are. Some of them need a little more work (too dark) but I was half asleep when I went through them.

Wow! Great Shots, Spooky. I wish I could have been there. I love the Sabres, the Fury and the T-33 especially. The 2-ship Sabre formation may be the first time two Sabres have been together since Dale Snodgrass (flying the late Wyatt Fuller's Sabre) and Ed Shipley flew together at NAS Oceana in September 2005.

I like the yellow finish on the one Sabre. Does anyone know if the Green/Gray camouflage pattern was ever actually applied to a real USAF F-86E/F Sabre? It seems I have seen a photo somewhere of an Air Force F-86F in camo markings as maybe a test sometime.

Neat show for the early jet fans! (Is an early jet fan a blower? - Don't answer that...)

Got to be the first time that there's been multiple Sabres and MiG 15s flying together since - well, probably last time there was shooting with them. Anyone?

Wonderful pics - thanks for posting them!

The Canadair Sabre VI was repainted her in St. Louis by AvMats and they also repaired the Fury after its belly landing in '08 at Pensacola. It flew out last November direct to the '09 Pensacola show. The Sabre VI scheme is based on a 461st FDS scheme from 1956 in Europe and is legit save for the highly polished nose bowl and exhaust. The serial number is spurious too. Personally I like it - a change of pace from the highly polished Sabres and the non-military schemes worn by others. Being a former Luftwaffe Sabre, I'd like to see it in those markings but the average U.S. airshow attending family seeing it would really not know what it is they are looking at and would probably think WWII.

Thanks for the background. From my point of view it looked like a badly interpreted RAF disruptive scheme, like the genuine schemes worn by Gabby's P-47s for instance! Nice to know it's just my ignorance...

When you put it like that, it's kinda tempting...

Wearing their own colours is always appropriate, but so often just not as 'exciting' or confirmatory of the narrow expectations of the masses.

Good to try a 'different' scheme though.

Great shot, you must have gone Sunday as well because you got combinations of formations I know for sure weren't there on Saturday.
Got my own thread as well on the show, but my long lens didn't wanna work so I had to go only with my 300...
