Jack Cook's photographs are the first thing I look for when I log into this site.

Jack I can't thank you enough for sharing them they really are stupendous.

My only regret is that you don't have any Lancaster pictures which is my area of interest.

I have a shot of a round motor Lancaster landing.
Does that count?

What's amazing to me is that Jak always has something that I've not seen before. I don't think I've ever seen him repost the same picture unless it was requested or pertinent to a conersation.

Jack-
Have you ever considered creating a web based searchable database of your photos?

It would be interesting to see an Inventory List of his photo Archives

I have a lot of 35mm slides and photos I took during the 1960's of various USAF aircraft. I'm looking for a scanner so I can post some of the pictures. What model, that is not too expensive, should I get?

Jack-
As far as the database thing, it really wouldn't be too complicated to design and implement. The REALLY time consuming part of it would be loading all of your photos witha description in it.

If this is something you'd consider, I'd be up for the challenge too! You have a TON of knowldege and the photos to go along with it.

Would take all the fun out of opening his 'mystery' posts though wouldn't it?

Bit like receiving two years worth of Aeroplane monthly in January then thats your lot for some time to come.

Keep up the 'mystery' posts please Jack!

I have an HP G4050. It will scan prints, slides and negatives of all sizes.

It runs @ $180. There are cheaper ones... I got this one because it will do 16 slides at a time.

I have had Epson and HP scanners.. I like the HP.

If someone wants I've got about 300-400 slides that need to be scanned.
About 200 are WWII SWP airfield and aircraft, 70s era Navy Carrier Ops and 60/70s warbirds. My good scanner burned and i'm using a $5 HP from Good Will
