Good try, but off by decades and many miles. Plus, I've never been to Pensacola...

Whoops, why is there a major portion of someone's wing laying on the "tarmac"?

Mt.Hope, Ontario. Early 1980's. .... or perhaps Abbottsford, BC, given the terrain and the big Douglas in the background.
Wing on ground is from a Canadian registered C-47.
The TBM is marked in FAA colors. Not sure which squadron, but I remember the name of the pilot.
Cheers,
Richard

Bozeman, Montana.1979.
totally a guessing but there are lots of good clues. The Cessna 150 in the background has both the tapered tail and rear window(non-razorback)and the butterscotch color came out around 1970. It isn't an active military base as they wouldn't leave a wing laying around on the flightline like that. The Transports have military paint scheme without the insignia andtheyalso have an N-number. I think they are a C-117 SuperGooney and a C-118.
The TBM looks vaguely familiar. It has the flag/board holder on the left side hinting that it sometimes carried flag ranking officers(admirals/Generals) on board. In other words it is a TBM-3R COD version.
As a teenager, I remember when Dr Dieter and Ray Stutsman bought a TBM-3R from a water bomber operation out west and brought it back to South Bend, Indiana. It made Oshkosh around 1980 or so.
The story as told by his son Damien, Dieter and friendAllen Steffey,is that it had never been civilianized, just stuck away in a hangar. It was pulled out and got back into running condition and ferried home. Military surplus paint, interior, engine, etc. just as it left the Navy. Allen andDamien touched up the paint on those thousands of rivet heads and hand waxed the entire airplane with rubbing compoud and it looked really great. I believe this is that airplane.

Finally! Chris -- how did you know? The year was actually 1982, but that would have been hard as stuff lay around up there for such long periods.
I'm very surprised it took so long -- There was really some interesting and unique stuff -- often quite derelict, but different and interesting...
Marine Air -- don't think this is your Turkey, but a similar story.
