What airfield was used to film the land shots? Noticed the big Blimp hangers.

Look at the #2 engine visible at 1:02 of the video...am I nuts, or is that a two-bladed prop?!?

I think the bar on the scaffolding throws off the photo.
Look closely & You'll see the 2 other blades...

Here's the finished B-25 Doolittle Raider scene from the Movie:

I think the blimp hangers might be the ones at El Toro

i noticed the 2 blade prop. this movie sucked, so many inacurracies, like the guns & norden bombsights present on the mitchells for starters, & the kitchy hollywood love interest bimbo.

Ok, I've not seen the movie, and don't intend to, but I just checked that link out and I've got to say that the film clips in that link were even worse than I thought they might be.

Yeah, it's easy to see that the Director didn't give a darn about anything. He just took the money & ran.
Hmmmm.... He must know My Lawyer...

Just think what an AWESOME Movie this could have been!! UGH, So many flaws & misteaks. Amazing how the Carrier had 5,000 bright shiny cans of Aviation Gas just sitting losely on the deck. Just in time for an Emergency Takeoff!! ... Digger

After reading and posting here yesterday, when I got home that evening I decided to pop in this turkey and watch the flight scenes again. Yes, it is a serious leave your brain at the door movie.

Ben " I couldn't get laid with a fistfull of cash and a tear in my eye" Afleck and Josh "Americas Favorite Hunchback" Harnet made this turkey even worse! All the nurses where whores and all the sailors had no clue they where in the Navy! Everytime I saw the stuttering idiot in the movie, the goofy one that is supposed to be a fighter pilot, I could not help remebering him in "Trainspotting"

Bruckheimer needs to go back to film school and learn how to shoot movies with actual actors and how not to ruin a golden opportunitiy.

What a waste of birds.

I still remember seeing this disaster on Opening Night. Me & about 6 other Warbird Fanatics went to see it with Our Wives and/or Girlfriends. It was a BIG NIGHT & We were all excited. A few of them were wearing Hawiian Shirts & everything. It was BIG Fun... until about 10 or 15 minutes into it. I started getting that "Old Sinking Feeling".
After about an hour, there were so many mistakes & horrors, I just wanted to quietly crawl under the seats & leave. However, I was with "company" & couldn't go. Ugh!! That's the problem with a Night Out at the Movies with friends. You can't leave when the Movie is terrible. It's like Jail time. You have to SIT through the whole thing!!
No matter how bad & awful...

I really wanted to like this movie. I tried & tried to give it a break. I saw it 3 more times & WALKED OUT each time after an hour or so. Almost every "rule" was broken in this Turkey & it's completely unwatchable. It seems they somehow "wanted" it to fail but why?? The only person I found who liked this movie was My Brother's Wife.
But she grew up in Newark, New Jersey so that should explain things... Digger

7 years later and people still hate it!

I have the director's cut and it is actually much better, but I agree that you have to check your brain at the door if you know anything at all about that time period.

I love it for the visuals. The cinemetography is kick ass. I love the stylized '40s vibe. I got married in Hawaii, so it looks like a bit of heaven for a dork like me... Kate Beckinsale makes me warm and fuzzy.

BUT here's the thing... that movie wasn't made for "us". It was made for the Dawson's Creek generation.

"Pacey, there's a Zero on your six! Break RIGHT!"

Didn't see it. Won't see it. Too bogus.
Besides, it's got Alec (I'm leaving the U.S. if Bush gets elected.) Baldwin.:vom:
