Nice ride! Congratulations! I need to get over there one of these decades and check it out.

Dude, you are super tiny. Did they modify the controls for you? :D

Great to see that one again,
Harry Doan sold it to Dick Bertea and I got to do a buch of work on it while it was at Chino.
Dick then sold it to Hank when he tired of having 2 Skyraiders.
All I can say is that thing has a lot of rivets in it. Douglas used a ton of smaller rivets in some of its structures as opposed to other designs which used fewer but larger fastners.
If I recall I believe someone got married in that plane. IIRC it was Hank's son? Anybody confirm?

Wondering how she is registered and if there is any chance they would sell rides in her. Could be the closest that many us of could get to a fighter?

Doug,

Now you can sell all those "trainers" you have been flying down there.

I would really be interested in your thoughts on flying the Spad vs. Corsair, Mustang, Sea Fury etc., once you get some time in it an have done some aerobatics in it. I have never had the opportunity to fly those others and only have what Bill Anders told me to go on for comparison. And yes, I know it's not a fighter, but i am curious about your opinion about it's flight characteristics. Had you flown them before? I think you had told me, not.

P.S. I have always been curious about the mods that Hank and Greg Deal made to the gear alignment on that airframe. Your thoughts on that?

John Beattie of the Royal Navy Historic Flight flew both single seat and two-seat Sea Furies for them. He (later) flew a Skyraider, and I've heard (via a third party) that he feels it's remarkably close to the fun factor of the Sea Fury. I can ask for more info if you are interested, ED.

IF they decide to repaint it I vote for painting it as Bernie Fisher's the one in which he Earned the M.O.H. in.

Nope. The SPAD that Mr Doan was killed in was AD-4NA Bu 126882.
I think this one is AD-5W (EA-1E) Bu 135152...
