Where did the year go? We arrived at American Aero Sunday afternoon and went straight to the Wing House. Here are a few photos from the last week or so...videos are in the works...give me a week or two on those.

Thanks for the photos Jim, and I'm looking forward to the videos!
The A-36 is looking excellent, and very stock. Any time line to when it should fly? It surely will be one amazing sight to see. Also, any idea how many miles, or hours you logged this summer?

Congrats on what looks like another successful tour season for y'all, Jim!

We have just one more stop (Nellis Air Force Base) and we'll be done for the season as well. Maybe we can get our two B-24s in the air together next year for some air to air photos.

With rising fuel costs and a weak economy we did very well. The enthusiasm is still going strong. The A-36 is progressing very quickly with talk of hanging the engine mounts on very soon. The wing will be the determining factor as it is with Teeters in CA...its going really slow but it'll be a beauty when completed. One of the first things I have to do is my logbook. I keep a log of all our stops and flights at the close of each city. I spent 75% of my time this year in the B-25. Didn't get in the 24 much but did the entire month of October with Mac in the B-17. I would guess around 250+ hours. It was a great year!

Gary, it would great to get the two of them up together, we will be in TX early next year...see what we can do!

Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures. I really appreciate seeing the current status of the A-36. It's looking beautiful. Do you have any idea if it will tour (with or without the bombers) when it is completed?

What kind of maintenance do the bombers undergo during the winter?

Simply put they are given an annual. Outside of items that are included in the annual we give them a sqauwk list of the minor issues that could be improved. One of the funniest "sqauwks" we got from one of our pilots (who shall remain nameless) asked for a cupholder to be installed in the B-25.

The A-36 will most likely be limited to airshows, much like the Corsair. I can see it doing a few cities in FL with us once it is finished.

Jim,

Great shots .... thanks for the post .... Back in '02, I flew on the Nine-O-Nine out of Trenton, NJ Airport as I was still living in NJ at the time. It was for me, the flight of a lifetime having flown in only C's (46, 47, 119 & 124).

I was doing a write up on my cousin who flew 35 missions as a RO/G with the 381st and I was in the process of converting his home 8mm films to DVD.

Thanks again.
