T-28 Positives

Wed Oct 17, 2007 11:12 pm

Apparently I stepped on a few toes of T-28 owners, pilots and fans. In a attempt to assuage their feelings I think I will list the good points of T-28s. Number 1.

A friend of mine is a retired USAF pilot who flew T-6s, T-28s, P-51s, F-86s and KC-97s and he said the T-28 was a great flying airplane and preferred it over the Mustang for aerobatics. A couple buddies of mine own T-28s (and other warbirds) and are big fans of it even though the maintenance demands lots of time, energy, and fistfulls of $100 bills--not an uncommon phenomenon with warbirds. Even though I wouldn't buy one, I enjoy seeing them fly (especially off my wing) and look forward to having the chance to get some stick time in one of my buds' T-28s.

I'll say nice things about the T-28 if someone let's me fly theirs . . .

No British hardware? Really? Do you guys mean that is not a Rolls Royce engine up front in the T-28? I have noticed it sounds a little different?

Obviously none of you nay sayers ever had a chance to see the T-28s race at Reno a few years back, it was a great display and was unfortunately dropped for another class type. The Trojan Horsemen put on a good display too.......
